COPD covid advice?

Hey.

So my mum has had covid for the last few days. Tested positive 3 days ago. She's been fine so far however last night it's went into her lungs and she's coughing up yellow phlegm now and is crackly. She's got copd but manages well. Is this anything to be concerned about? She's waiting on her copd nurse calling her back to see what happens now. Just a bit worried.

I would want her seen by someone. Could be a secondary bacterial infection? I'd phone 111 if didn't hear back from COPD nurse soon

Does she have a pulse oximeter to measure her oxygen saturation? That would be a useful thing to do while she waits for further advice.

If her COPD nurse hasn't phoned back by the end of the day, or if she feels any worse, I'd phone 111.

Hey! Thank you. She spoke to the nurse and they have got her straight on steroids and antibiotics. Her saturates are 97 just now which is good. Her pulse is 90 but they aren't too concerned. She's to call back if things get worse! Will she end up in hospital if it gets worse? x
