My Covid is symptom free - what are my chances of a negative LFT by Wednesday?

I had a verrrry slight sore throat on Wednesday, and a really runny nose all morning, but LFT was negative.

Since then, I have been absolutely fine. Nothing at all to report. I got a surprise positive LFT on Friday.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the LFTs have been so strong, the test line is stronger than the control line! Shock Sad

I desperately need to be clear by Friday. What are my chances of getting two negatives on Weds and Thurs?

Nobody knows
Everyone is different

No one can really say, it’s like with everything else to do with Covid.

It’s pretty random and everyone is different.

Have you had covid before or fully vaxxed? All 4 of my family tested positive last week and 3/4 of us are negative on day 6, only dc2 who is too young for vax and has not had covid before is still positive. DC1 had covid 2 Months ago and Purely anecdotal but might give you some hope!

Missed off the info that dh and I have not had it before but have had vaccines. I hope you get a negative OP.

We are all still pos 7 days later, getting fainter.

We did all come down with it pretty bad tho...

sheusesmagazines · 28/03/2022 00:25

I've had a very very mild case, still positive day 6. Faint line on flowflex (nose only) but blazing positive on another type in the blue NHS branded box (the ones where you do the throat and nose).

BloodyRona · 28/03/2022 00:59

Triple vaxxed but the third one was some months ago now; I was one of the very first to get it.

4 of us here got covid 2 weeks ago, only one tested negative day 6 and 7, other 3 still testing positive, so stopped testing. It took me 4 days after everyone else to test positive, but had the same symptoms, thinking I would be clear by day 5 and 6 of symptoms but I wasn’t, so had to cancel a few things.

Tivadivaz · 28/03/2022 08:05

I am triple vaxxed and had my first episode of covid in Jan. My only symptom was a runny nose for a morning. I got my negatives day 6 and 7.

Lots of my colleagues (healthcare) had covid at the same time as me/ since and I was the only one who escaped (virtually) symptom free. All bar one of them were still testing positive much closer to day 10 than I did.

Jules912 · 28/03/2022 09:20

I was still positive on day 15 ( tested as I'd planned to see someone very vulnerable), but DH got a negative on day 5. We're both triple vaccinated so not sure that makes a difference.

FunnyTalks · 28/03/2022 09:32

Came here looking for a thread like this!

Am triple vax, had very mild symptoms. Currently day 6 (if test was on day 0). My positive test line this morning developed quicker than the control line.

I know the LFTs show how much virus is in your system. Does the strong line also mean I'm really infectious right now? I've not had any coughing or sneezing at any point, but I suppose I'm still breathing it out?

DontWannaMiss · 28/03/2022 10:01

I tested positive on PCR on Monday, no symptoms. Developed a bit of an itchy throat and lost my voice, yet Day 5 and 6 LFT were completely negative already, so there's hope I'd say!

BloodyRona · 28/03/2022 13:49

Another blazing Test line for me today even though I am symptom free! Sad

Oops missed the symptom free but, I definitely wasn't.
elbo7 · 28/03/2022 14:44

To give you a small amount of hope, DC2 day 6 test yesterday was very dark (the same as his day 0 test). This mornings one, less than 24 hours later, was very faint and barely there. Same test packet of flow flex bought from boots.

Watapalava · 28/03/2022 18:01

Come Friday boris is removing all advice to isolate with covid so doesn’t matter if positive or not then

AlwaysLatte · 28/03/2022 18:04

Everyone's different. I'm still testing positive on day 10 which is such a bore. Had to cancel so many plans.
