Hi my daughters test was positive yesterday (Friday).

I've contacted school but they haven't got back to me.
Is Friday classed as day 1? Do I test her Monday and Tuesday and if negative she goes black Wednesday?

I've tried ordering more tests for myself and dd2 but I can't get any. Do we need to be tested?

Thank you

Friday is day 0 in the absence of symptoms. Wednesday is day 5, Thursday is day 6.

Friday is day 0.
Test first thing on Wed, first thing on Thurs, and if both are negative get her into school. But Thursday is the earliest.

The school I work at andt2 other schools my children attend are following the standard guidelines which have all been widely published you the parent bodies.

Yesterday is day 0. First day you could stay testing for early release is Wednesday, day 5. If that was negative and followed by a repeat negative 24 hours later on Thursday, day 6, they could return then. If tests are done early morning then it's back to school on Thursday.

Hi OP , just like others have said yesterday is 0 and day 5 will be Wednesday. I went to work last night and I tested positive at work and I was sent home and I was told to test on Wednesday.

Happened to ds last week, (same days) he went back to school Friday, but could of gone back thursday but doesn’t attend a local school so needed to arrange transport etc.

Friday is day 0. Negative test Wednesday and Thursday morning first thing will mean she can go back Thursday.

For yourself and dd, you don’t have to test, unless you have any symptoms. Your best bet would be getting some from a chemist as gov website have none in. (Or haven’t the 3 times I’ve checked this week)

I find first thing in the morning the best time to order LFTs online (I ordered some at about 7.45 yesterday morning and they arrived today).

Sorry to jump on this but we’ve had a positive lateral flow test in our house but we’re unsure if we need to go for a pcr to confirm it?

dementedpixie · 26/03/2022 12:29

No you don't need a follow up PCR test

I. Managed to get some this morning! Must be a fluke. Let’s see if they turn up
