11 days - still positive

I’ve done an LFT this morning and it’s still positive. I feel fine - if it was any other cold I’d definitely be seeing people at this stage but because it’s covid I haven’t.

What would you do about going out and about? NHS advice is that after 10 days you’re unlikely to be infectious and you technically don’t have to LFT anyway at this point. I’m climbing the walls and want to see people!

The guidance is that you are free after 10 days! So go out and enjoy your day

I was positive for over two weeks. After 10 days, as long as you have no fever, you can go out. The LFT is picking up antibodies.

The rules to finish isolating have always been a one size fits all regardless of if there's a chance people continue to test positive. After 10 days regardless of continuing to test positive you are perfectly entitled to carry on as normal. Stop testing.

No, LFTs detect viral protein (antigen).

I was the same. I went out on day 11 from symptoms ( day 10 from positive test) but was a bit more cautious than usual. As it happened everyone I saw had had it recently anyway 😂

I tested last Saturday which was day 9 and it was negative so went back to life as normal. Haven't tested since - why would you keep testing?

Tigerblue · 25/03/2022 10:53

My first negative was day 13. Worked in my favour as I wasn't up to going back on day 10 and doing a full day (only day I do one) and they wouldn't take me back until I'd had two negatives!
