Hi, I've been feeling unwell since Sunday with sore throat, blocked nose, achy, sore eyes. Covid very high in our area (dd sch highest staff ever with covid and dd Yr group home sch this wk). All daily LFT a negative. Yesterday dd started with cold and sore throat She 15 and had covid about six wks ago but she is at the sch w high covid levels. She testing negative too. So presume must be other cold virus?? Or just slow testing positive?? I'm going get pcr today. Dd can go sch today (think they rotating yr groups who home schooling).. But if sch high covid absences feel unsure if they welcome pupil with cold.... But just like on winter, are people still getting a lot of non covid colds /fluey things??

Kc

Definitely a nasty cold doing the rounds just now. It's wipesld out DS nursery in kids and staff that they've had to close.

Thank you Nix2020. I know there must be but for last week or so all I've heard is covid, covid, covid! Cases high in my area (Hampshire) and first time Yr groups closed at sch due to staff off w covid. And many I know around country with covid with similar symptoms to me (one friend with it for third time,). So it's playing with my mind!

There's definitely a cold going around! I had similar symptoms for over a week, during which time I did 5 LF tests. No red line on any occasion!

East Midlands here and I'm just getting over a really horrible cold - was convinced it was Covid, The onset was really quick, went downhill very quickly, felt like death warmed up for a couple of days then have been left with a cough which is gradually going. Negative LFT's but I still kept myself to myself and wore a mask in shops. Its ended up a typical 3 days to come, 3 days to happen and 3 days to go cold. My OH had it but less coughing more shivering, my colleague at work had it and had to take 5 days off.

Thanks for replies. That sounds like what I have got. So hard to know what to do when on one hand need to 'live' with covid - yet impact for example on schools, remains so great. And whatever folk say, for many covid (and these other viruses ) not 'just a cold' .x
