I’m ill, dds are ill and we have been exposed to covid. I have a few tests left in the house and we’re so far negative.

I can’t get any online, I tried late last night and at 6 this morning. I can though buy a box of 5 for £9.95!!!

So, I’m going to stop testing as I can’t afford it.

What happens ref jabs etc. If people can’t test but have a cold (possibly covid), do you just take a chance with a covid booster that could be less the 12 weeks after covid?? My teens are due a booster next month.

Can you still get PCR tests?

I'm in Scotland so things are still different here re LFT and PCR tests

MerryMarigold · 24/03/2022 07:36

I thought a box was 17.00 in Boots!

Overthebow · 24/03/2022 08:05

Yes this will be the reality for everyone in a weeks time. I won’t be buying any tests so will be back to pre-covid for me and will get on with my planned activities unless too ill to leave the house.

For jabs unless your DC get a really bad illness if just get the jabs done at the correct time.

I managed to order a box at 10pm last night after trying all day from the government site so keep trying at different times.

Doesn't help OP, but our Boots are charging £2 per test

dementedpixie · 24/03/2022 10:53

If there are symptoms then its a PCR you're supposed to take not an LFT

Kab3042 · 24/03/2022 11:36

I couldn't afford too. I have some left still and we don't need them at the minute 🤞 but jr worries me too. What happens when our kids have mild cold symptoms and need a test? Pay each time? And with pcr testing gone, lft's aren't always accurate so a negative lft doesn't necessarily mean someone doesn't have it and you couldn't afford to keep repeating a test everyd day?!

For another 7 days then pcr testing is finishing!
dementedpixie · 24/03/2022 11:37

It's not finished in Scotland from then

Dancingqueen202 · 24/03/2022 16:04

It’s rubbish isn’t it. I guess we’ll have to stay away from anyone with a cold.

My dd just came home from school with a box 😀😀😀 I’m saving those!
