4YO Covid Cough

Does anyone have experience of this? My daughter is heading into day 6 tomorrow of being positive and she seems better and snot is drying up but, her cough at night is quite bad. During the day it's generally OK and she coughs but not that much, when she goes to bed though it starts and she coughs a lot. Is this something to be worried about? I've thought about buying a child spo2 monitor to see if her oxygen is OK?

We’ve all just had covid and are still coughing, especially nighttime. For me my cough is getting looser each day, but I still apply Vicks vapour rub each night. If she’s fine daytime and not struggling with breathing or having trouble getting sentences out without being breathless, then think she will be ok.

@Mindymomo Thanks. She seems generally fine, just coughing which seems worse at night although this morning she's coughing a lot too. From August to December after starting nursery she picked up a few respiratory viruses (not Covid) and needed antibiotics twice to clear the chest infection after them so will be watching her for this.

My DS4 didn't cough at all while testing positive, but since coming out the other side about two weeks ago his cough and snot has been relentless. I assume it's connected but am starting to worry, it just seems to be getting worse.

Coughs can be nasty and linger for a while with a normal covid virus so definitely possible with covid. Coughing is often worse at night too when lying down from post nasal drip! Try propping her up, vicks, calpol plug in etc. I also found bronchostop really good too!
