Only 1in 4 people with Covid are currently reporting their symptoms. My doctors surgery recently asked people to report their symptoms on the NHS website to give Government a true indication of infection rates. The data will also go onto your health records which could be useful if longer term you have side effects or complications.
You can still obtain free Lateral flow tests too.

Good point OP

It may also be needed for proof of recovery for travel to some places

BluebellsGreenbells · 18/03/2022 16:57

Totally agree. I hear so many parents not bothering to report their child’s Covid on the apps.

It doesn’t cost anything.

BlackInk · 18/03/2022 19:19

I presume people aren’t testing/reporting because they don’t want to feel obliged (by school, work, pressure from others, etc) to follow the isolation advice.
I can see the temptation having just been stuck at home for 9 days with DD, who was totally well after 4 or 5 days.
But I want it to be on her medical record just in case she has any longer term issues. Also wouldn’t have wanted her to be out and about spreading it. She’s still positive on day 8 so potentially still infectious even though feeling fine.

When DS tested positive I almost genuinely forgot between all the notifying people and cancelling things. I had to dig the test out of the bin when I remembered 🙈

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 18/03/2022 21:34

Do you still get harassed by T&T if you report a positive test? The stories I've heard have been enough to put me off reporting!

bumpytrumpy · 18/03/2022 21:39

No thanks. I don't need the hassle. I know, that's enough.

bumpytrumpy · 18/03/2022 21:40

And I've had it before (officially) so it's already on my record. No long term effects, just a cold and even milder 2nd time around.

JanglyBeads · 18/03/2022 22:02

T&T don't exist any more, so no.

Goofbawl · 18/03/2022 22:06

3/4 of my household had it recently, including me. None of us reported it because we were so bloody ill! Came on really suddenly and severely for all of us. And first time any of us have tested positive on LFTs, actually.
By the time I had enough brain power/energy back to think straight, it was too late to register the results.

Mindymomo · 19/03/2022 07:30

I reported my DH in case he was eligible for anti viral drugs. Yes, test and trace are still calling, they called him 3 times one day. He’s also been called by the medical assessment unit that checked him over, but they decided he didn’t need the anti virals. A friend of my Sons logged his test 2 weeks ago, he received 40 phone calls in his 10 day isolation from test and trace.

Are you in England? I got absolutely nothing from test and trace when I registered mine or my son's.
superram · 19/03/2022 07:40

You can’t be in England as track and trace don’t exist. If you respond to their texts or emails they don’t ring at all so please don’t exaggerate!

ItsSnowJokes · 19/03/2022 07:45

Husband is currently positive, no calls from t&t. He logged his details on the email etc...... and not one call so those saying 40+ calls is bullshit.

Daughter had it last summer and we had 1 phone call and about 3 texts.

sorryiasked · 19/03/2022 07:55

I'm currently positive and registered the result online. I've since had two reminders to put the code (sent in the results email) into the App for T&T which I don't intend to do. See attached screenshot for those who don't believe T&T so exists!

We are about a week away from testing ending completely. This is a weird post.. I won’t be testing at all when I have to pay for it, I doubt most people will 🤷🏼‍♀️

That's just an automated text. Nobody in England has to isolate by law anymore, so they don't have teams of people ringing you to check up.
Frenchie8690 · 19/03/2022 15:54

On fairness T&T has been really hot and miss throughout. I've had wildly different experiences with them each I had to isolate.
One occasion they hounded me every day and treated me like a criminal when I missed a call because it was during the working. Another time I didn't hear from them at all. And I've had a few experiences in between those two extremes.

Oh and there was the particularly pleasant time where they sent an aggressive man to my door to demand sight of my passport. Told him to hop it, he said I'd "failed" the check, I said I'd look forward to a visit from the police and needless to say nothing ever came of it...

No. Three positive tests reported in this house in the past ten days, not one call from t&t.

We had those too. That's not t&t.

What hassle? I tested positive on Wednesday (I’ve been dealing with symptomatic children at school all week whose parents insist “we don’t need to test he/she just has a cold”).

I reported my result. I got a code to enter into the app and that was it. Certainly no “hassle”.

OnceuponaRainbow18 · 19/03/2022 16:13

@PinkSparklyPussyCat

I got daily texts last time I had it, this time not one
