Bit of a strange one. My DP has just received a PCR test through the post. He hasn't ordered one and has had no email of confirmation he will receive one.
Just wondering if those who are vulnerable are receiving PCRs through the post automatically?

He might be eligible for the antivirals if he gets covid. If you are they send you a PCR to keep at home. They might be widening the net with community testing stopping next week.

My grandad who was shielding received one yesterday, my nan was confused as there was no cover letter explaining it.
We put it down to being a fast track pcr in case he develops symptoms so he can be prescribed anti virals quickly.
It's probably because general testing is ending at the end of the month so there is a test available quickly to them.

A bit of communication would have been a good idea.

Ok so it wasn't just him.
As a bit of a red herring we all have colds (neg LTFs) so we were even more confused.
Yes, the fact there was no letter or message to say that shielders may receive one would have been nice.

I've had the opposite - a letter but no test! Tried calling 119 and gave up before I got through to anyone...

I was sent one because I was told I was eligible for antivirals. Tested positive last Saturday - and told I wasn't eligible for antivirals, despite being previously told I was/being immunosuppressed CEV/eligible for four jabs. I'm now really unwell and more than a bit annoyed!

Oh goodness! I hope you feel better really soon. The whole thing seems very disorganised.

I had texts/letters about 4th jab (which I had) but no pcr/antiviral information. I did ring and they said it was in the post…. That was weeks ago Confused
