How long between testing positive

DD1 has tested positive. No symptoms other than sneezing occasionally. Tested Tuesday night, faint positive. Blazing line by yesterday morning.

How long between one of you testing positive did any one else in your house get a positive?

In January DD got it and no one else did, surprisingly as she's 6 so no distancing from her.
Then last Thursday DS tested positive ( symptoms on Wednesday), DH on Saturday and me on Sunday. DD still negative.

Mindymomo · 17/03/2022 06:36

DH and DS1 tested positive last Thursday, DS2 Friday, but myself despite having same symptoms at the same time didn’t test positive till the Sunday.

frenchiemummy92 · 17/03/2022 07:46

Thank you both.

We didn't catch it when DP had it during the first lock down. DD2 and DP still negative today. I'm just about to test.

In oct/nov my two eldest children had Covid but the other 3 of us didn't catch it.

I have tested positive today so we will see if anyone else gets it. Everyone else has tested negative today.

BlackInk · 17/03/2022 09:52

When DS had Covid back in October none of the rest of us caught it.
DD is now on day 7 of Covid and so far the rest of us are still clear.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to whether you'll catch it at all and if you do how long it will take. Average incubation for Omicron is 4 days I think, but you could have contracted it before your DC had symptoms or on any day since when they are still infectious, so anything up to her day 10 (or so) plus 4...

Chicci1 · 17/03/2022 10:00

Myself and dh had Covid and dc both tested positive 8 days later. We had tested them every day and they were negative up until then.

JemimaMuddledUp · 17/03/2022 10:01

I tested positive on Monday (with a PCR, LFT was still showing negative at that point). Nobody else in the house has tested positive so far.

The person that I think I caught it from tested positive on an LFT on Sunday. I likely caught it from him on Friday, so it took 3 days to show on a PCR and 4 days to show on an LFT.

Frosty1000 · 17/03/2022 10:06

DS positive Friday morning, symptoms definitely from the night before. Me positive Sunday morning, symptoms Saturday night.

Hubby, negative!

SpaceyCake · 17/03/2022 10:25

DC had it in November and no-one else caught it. They got a positive again yesterday and I tested positive this morning. DH is still negative but my crystal ball says he'll have a positive tomorrow.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 17/03/2022 10:28

I'm on day 7 and the rest of the family are still clear...

Cotswoldmama · 17/03/2022 10:31

My boys tested positive a day apart I tested positive 3 days later and my husband 6 days later. It took me 11 days before I got a negative result. My husband who caught it last got a negative after 6 days.

frenchiemummy92 · 17/03/2022 14:05

I suspect that DD2 will catch it as they share everything. Currently even sharing a bed as they refuse to sleep alone 🤦🏻‍♀️.

I knew it was sweeping across the school but she has no main symptoms so had I off not tested we wouldn't of known.

My mum went away with her friends last week (min - fri) and one of her friends had Covid the whole time. She didn't know obviously but when she got him she tested and she was positive. Her son who doesn't leave the house tested positive too so she must've had it before leaving. She did have a sniffly nose.
Anyway my mums not been 100% since coming home 6 days ago but negative tests... anyway she's positive today. So it seems to be like a 5 or 6 day pattern atm 😳

frenchiemummy92 · 17/03/2022 14:25

So I would think Sunday/Monday then 🤦🏻‍♀️.

Scary how many people aren't having any symptoms.

Her test this morning was extremely dark before the C line.

I've tested positive today

I'm on Day 4, no-one else in the family has tested positive but I am isolating in my bedroom!

bluebunnyblue · 18/03/2022 12:55

Hope you don't feel too rough with it, OP.

DD1 tested positive on Saturday 5th, I tested positive on Thursday 10th, DD2 got a cough and temperature on Monday 14th but has tested negative throughout, even on a PCR. DH tested positive yesterday, 17th.... It's the first time we've had it, as far as we know. Seems like loads who had previously dodged it have finally succumbed in the last couple of weeks.

frenchiemummy92 · 18/03/2022 13:10

@bluebunnyblue the only thing I've got is back ache that feels like bad period pain but I had my depo injection earlier in the week so I can't say it's not that.

DD2 is negative as is DP.

This is my first time having it that I am aware off.

DD1 had a slight temperature this morning and is still occasionally sneezing but she says she feels fine. She's loving been of school playing with her barbies lol

frenchiemummy92 · 18/03/2022 13:11

@Africa2go Dd1 is only 5 so we can't isolate. We didn't the first time DP had it and no one else caught it.

Sod's law you dodge it for over 2 years and then it gets you when you least expect it 🤦🏻‍♀️
