Productive cough - COVID?

My 5yo tested positive on a LFT on Monday.

I developed a temperature and productive cough last night (and a headache). lft negative this morning.

Is it more likely I have covid or an unrelated bug? I'm waiting on a PCR result so should know in a couple of days, but interested to hear if anyone else had a productive cough and negative LFT but it turned out to be covid.

Covid can definitely have a productive cough.

If you child has it and you feel unwell, it seems very likely it's that. LFTs are often negative until a few days into infection/symptoms starting.

That's what I think Tulip, just wondering what work will say about me wanting to wfh if the PCR is negative too... At the moment I couldn't work anyway, so bit of a non issue.

My cough has been productive and my PCR was positive.

I had a negative LFT but a positive PCR the same day. I have a productive cough.

I’ve had a productive cough since Sunday. Negative lft on Monday, positive lft today

I had a negative LFT and negative PCR the day my symptoms started, LFT was positive next day.

I only had a productive cough. Never a dry cough.
