Sinus infection - positive test

I've had a horrid sinus infection now for coming up two weeks.
Tested very early on and got a negative. No transitional covid symptoms so didn't think anything more.

My partner started feeling poorly middle of last week with aches and chills. I said, better take a test so I took one at the time because, why not?

Well my test came back as positive and his negative (and so have all his subsequent tests over the last several days).

I've had this sinus infection almost 2 weeks now, and not left the house.

I don't know anyone else having sinus infection symptoms with COVID (only mild cold like symptoms). I've had a lot of sinus infections and this is just the same as a normal one, where my head feels like it's going to explode out my gums and eye balls.

I'm not coughing, still have (as far as possible when you can't breathe) taste and smell, no temperature, no fatigue (other than what's normal when you haven't slept properly in 2 weeks), etc.

I'm really confused. Anyone else with similar symptoms?
