Just that ! PCR positive on Friday no real symptoms and isolating as it’s the right thing to do and i work with people.
Do I do the day 5 test on Tuesday and then if that’s negative another on Wednesday then am i allowed out then that day ? Reading too much conflicting advice

Day 5 is Wednesday. So it's Wednesday and Thursday for negative tests

JanglyBeads · 13/03/2022 19:04

Yup Friday is yr day 0, so test Wedn and Thurs. If they're both negative you are released Thursday straight after the second negative test.

Thanks folks

Yeh day 5&6 is Wednesday & Thursday. If you do the test first thing both days then you can be free as soon as the test is negative Thursday. We are the same days as you.

Difference for us is we had symptoms from the Tuesday. So do we count days from then or from the positive test?

Glitterandunicorns · 14/03/2022 11:21

@Pinkstar28 You'd count Tuesday as your day zero then.

Hope everyone makes a speedy recovery. Thank you for isolating to those who are able to.

I had symptoms on Saturday but my LFT and PCR then were negative. I didn't believe it as Covid in the house so did a LFT on Sunday which was positive, does that mean my day 5 is Thursday or Friday?

Frosty1000 · 14/03/2022 12:04

Friday

I got my positive on Sunday morning, but had symptoms on Saturday, but negative test in morning and didn't do a second test in the evening as I went to bed.

fartooanxiousfortoday · 15/03/2022 16:15

@Pinkstar28 @Glitterandunicorns @JanglyBeads if you were going to be working in a crowded place when you returned on day 6 would you decide not to go back even if your two tests were negative or would you go back with a mask on knowing you were probably safer than most ?

Glitterandunicorns · 15/03/2022 17:16

@fartooanxiousfortoday I know the stress of having clinically extra vulnerable family members so because of that, I'd work from home for 10 days after a positive test.

If it encourages you at all, I had a positive test six weeks ago. I have no underlying medical conditions and didn't have to seek hospital treatment whilst I was ill.

I'm still suffering really badly with fatigue now, to the extent that I have to sleep during the day even after getting 12 hours of sleep at night. The side effects and complications are not all fully known about yet, so please if you're able, isolate if you can when you get a positive test.

Frosty1000 · 15/03/2022 17:56

@Glitterandunicorns gosh that sounds miserable. I really hope you start to feel better soon.

The fatigue is a killer for me, my other symptoms aren't bad but I'm only on day 2. Long road ahead xx

Glitterandunicorns · 15/03/2022 18:26

@Frosty1000 thank you so much. I hope you make a speedy recovery too. Thanks

I’m confused about testing post covid. I’m on day 3 of symptoms and the app said I need to isolate for another 9 days, so for 2 negative tests should I start testing on day 7 or 8 of the isolation period?

I know isolation isn’t compulsory btw, but messages are confusing (or it could just be me as I feel like shit at the moment and have brain fog on top of all the other covid symptoms)
