Control line of LFT

Does the control line mean the test is working or that the user has done it right (managed to get enough sample material to be tested)?

Since BoJo announced that LFTs would stop, they've been sending out the crappy ones you have to swab your throat with. I'm never sure if I get it right as I spend more time gagging than swabbing!

I don’t think so. I think it can still be inaccurate through user technique even with the control line.

Have you tried saying a long ‘laaaaa’ as you swab? It does help with the gagging even if it doesn’t get rid of it totally.

Just means the test is working.

It means enough fluid has been put in the test well, and it's unlikely the test was faulty.
It means nothing about how well you've swabbed (you get a control line if you never use the swab and just drip in the fluid).

You can do both nostrils ten circles rather than the throat i think. I got those as well and instructions say if you can put in throat then do both nostrils

Even with the old ones you don't have to do your throat. Just do both nostrils.

Good question- I’m crap at doing the throat. I never think I’m doing it right.
I have done both nostrils when I couldn’t face the gagging. However, when I did daily testing as a contact I started to get little blood on the swab!!

My DH and I debated this so I just put the solution without swabbing into the LFT and the control line came up.

I think they're sending the horrible ones because there's evidence that Omicron starts in the throat. I swab my throat first with the Flowflex too.

I think maybe they've just run out of the flow flex ones 🤷🏼‍♀️ there's been a surge in demand since they announced they'll start charging at the end of March.

Tested positive this morning for the 3rd time.
Nose was faint, a squinter.
Did nose and throat and was stronger T line.
Only had it back in January. Some fucker is having a laugh
