Advice on reporting a positive LF result

My LO started with symptoms on Tuesday so we ordered a home testing kit. Whilst waiting, I did a lateral flow on her and it came up as an instant positive.

I haven’t done the home testing kit since it arrived as I’m assuming the lateral flow is evidence enough (and it’s so difficult to do it on her I don’t want to do another unnecessarily). How do I report her lateral flow result? Sign in on my account and give her details? Or make her own account?

I tested myself on a lateral flow yesterday with symptoms and it is positive. When I log in to register it, it reads as if I’m testing for work rather than because of symptoms. Do I still just register it online?

Sorry if I sound dim, not feeling great today!

You should be able to add your DD by ticking the reporting for someone else box. I report for me, my 2 DCs and then added in DH that way after setting up my account.

My understanding is that unless you want a PCR for a specific reason (or live in Scotland) then the LFT is enough. I am in England and it had that as an explanatory note when I reported the positive test for DS1.

Oh- and yes I would just register it as a positive, no matter why you were testing.

Hope you feel better soon! Thanks

Log in on your account and select report for someone else, then enter her details.

Yes sign in with your details and then at some point it asks if you are reporting a result for someone else. LO will then be added to your account if you need to report more in the future.

Yes still register your own test online, there isn't an option for symptoms as technically you're still supposed to get a pcr for symptoms? there's some wishy washy 'other' -type option for why you are doing the test, something like 'following govt guidelines' or something like that. I just use that one.

You can report for someone else on your account, can't remember exactly how as once you've done it once they get added. For the reason for doing the test it remembers the last options you did unless you change it.
