Feeling ill before testing post I've

I've had cold symptoms since Monday (sore throat & sneezing mainly) but have been taking lateral flows just to be on the safe side. I did a test at about 8 o clock last night, which was completely negative and not even a shadow of a line. I've tested positive this morning with a blazing positive on both nasal tests & throat tests which showed up before the test had filled up fully

Has anyone else has this? Did your symptoms get worse than they had been pre positive test? I'm worrying cause I have a baby who's currently asleep on me but I obviously still have to look after her
Triple jabbed and was vaccinated 2 doses while pregnant so I'm hoping baby has some antibodies!

The title is obviously supposed to say before testing positive! Stupid autocorrect

Sounds normal. I had symptoms on Tuesday afternoon, negative test Tues am (I’d tested as a contact), blazing test on Wednesday morning

First couple of days were worst for me: all you can do is rest

PS - friends with babies say babies have been totally fine, incl a 1 week old x

Both DH and adult DS tested positive today, both lines came up straight away, DS very faint, but DH very strong red line, they’ve both been coughing for a couple of days, DS had a back ache yesterday, but gone now. DH has aches and blocked sinuses. Both are in bed, eating and drinking well, thanks to me. I am negative at the moment, but DH has coughed all night with me in same bedroom. We are all triple jabbed, so hoping it doesn’t get any worse and I stay negative.

DS2 had a cold last week, but has tested positive this week and seems to be sinusing up again... I suspect that it was genuinely a cold, and that's made him susceptible to the next virus immediately which happens to be Covid.
I got the cold from him in the first place but have been testing clear. DS1 also has a cold and is testing clear.

Incidentally I had Covid at Christmas, two weeks after the booster. DS2 got a very mild dose days after me, literally a long sleep-in, slight temperature brought down with Calpol, brief faint line, and that was that and this has presented very differently.

Gosh I'm looking forwards to cold symptoms just being a cold again!
Going through this every other month and keep having to clear out the diary for a week is ridiculous.

I have noticed a lot of people reporting back to back illness with covid be it colds, stomach bugs or water infections. It just seems to leave people susceptible to whatever else was loitering in their system.

DH has a tickly throat about 36 hours before testing positive progressing into very mild cold symptoms, he woke up and tested positive - he didn't need to tell me he wasn't well I could see it all over his face. He felt awful first few days, but had a bit more life on day six.

Like you, I took more like 60 hours to test positive. Tickly throat one day, felt warm at work the next day (so did everyone else so I ignored) but then started feeling pretty rough about 36 hours before testing positive. On testing positive my initial symptoms eased, but I was fatigued and had no energy. Like DH I felt a bit better around day six (neither of us felt well enough for work though).

Hope you're ok

Thanks all! I just can't believe it's been 2 years and it's finally got me, and I'm definitely more anxious than at the start of it all because I now have a tiny human to look after too!

So far the worst I've felt was last night, where I couldn't stop going hot and cold and all I wanted to do was lie down and do nothing so naively I'm hoping that's the worst do it although I doubt it 🙈
