How to manage covid - child

My youngest has covid again. He was already on a course of string antibiotic for another issue, which he’s getting 4 times a day. Now he’s running a temp of 39.4 and I’m trying to alternate paracetamol and ibuprofen ever couple of hours too.

Anyone got any tips on how on earth I can physically get that amount of meds into a 5 year old willingly?!

I’ve considered dropping the antibiotic and treating the fever first….

Don’t stop the antibiotics

Are you trying to cool him in other ways, like a cold flannel on the forehead/arm pit/ wrists ?

A fever in itself doesn't necessarily need treating. www.nhs.uk/conditions/fever-in-children/

If it were me I would focus on antibiotics as (presumably) he has an infection which could get worse and lead to bigger problems if untreated.
