Gushing Nose bleeds

Primary school aged DD is down with covid since Friday, had high temp but that seems to be improving. But she has also had now three mega nosebleeds, real gushers that seem to be coming from no-where. She's never had a nosebleed ever before in her life so it was kinda freaky out if the blue like this. Is this something others have seen with covid?

Dr Google tells me it may be a bit more common with covid & that there are a lot of the receptors that covid bonds to in the nostrils so maybe they get inflamed and can cause nosebleeds. But in spite of that info googling doesn't bring up other people asking about it so just curious really if this is something others have also experienced with covid?

Hello, my husband had a couple of heavy nosebleeds when he had coronavirus. I suspect that it was because he was shoving a cotton swab up his nose every day so he could come out of isolation a bit early.

Very similar situation here in terms of age and date of infection, although my DD is susceptible to nosebleeds. She had 3 massive ones yesterday and 1 today. She's a lot perkier today so hopefully she's coming out the other side. Hope your DD is better soon.

Yes, DS had Covid last year and had 3 heavy nosebleeds, he's never had nosebleeds before or since.

Thanks for replies - at least it's not just her and hopefully nothing to worry about - took us all by surprise and trying very hard to keep it all in perspective but after two years of pandemic craziness the urge to overreact is strong - she is definitely on the mend otherwise aside from headaches and these nosebleeds

I've had covid twice and both times had nose bleeds.

My mum started getting regular massive nose bleeds due to a deviated septum and she had to have surgery to fix it.

Yes, I work in an infant school and at least 3 children had nosebleeds at school before testing positive for covid!

I hope she's better soon.

Yes! This literally just happened to us in the last 2hrs. Never had a nosebleed before, gushing blood, has COVID, primary school age. So scary. That's our first. I'm hoping we don't get 3! Did the same with Google search, there just isn't much information. Ambulances are on strike so we couldn't get help. So much blood :(

DD 13 had this when she had Covid in Oct last year. It was as you describe & seemed to be pumping out with her pulse. It was worrying but she did recover fully. She had Covid again last week & didn't get the nosebleeds this time.

I currently positive and had a nose bleed yesterday
