Stomach bug symptoms post infection

I am now on day 18 post positive test. I wasn’t particularly ill when I had covid, the classic omicron symptoms that are publicised like a mild cold, headaches.

On day 16 I started feeling nauseous and suffering from stomach pains. No actual vomiting or diarrhoea…until today, two days later. I still feel awful with the nausea and stomach pains, and I’m now having frequent bouts of diarrhoea.

At first I thought it was a virus, as DC (who tested positive a week before me) had what looked like a virus a few days ago - vomiting and the usual peaky/off her food symptoms. DP also had covid at the same time, and also had similar gastro symptoms to what I’ve got now.

Except his and DD’s went away after the classic 24 hours. Could this actually be linked to covid? It does seem coincidental that the only other child in DD’s class whose had the “stomach bug” also had covid at the same time, and also my other two DC who didn’t catch covid don’t seem to have caught the “bug”.

Did anyone have this? How long did it last? Feeling very sorry for myself.

Hope you feel better soon OP.

It does sound like a stomach bug as 16 days later seems like a long time later and you didn't have stomach symptoms earlier.

I think that some nausea and even a single episode of vomiting in kids as a first symptom of Covid is quite common but I'm fairly sure that it's not been reported as a delayed Covid symptom.
