So, I've had cold symptoms since Wednesday and now have the tickly cough i always get with a cold. I have tested on Wednesday, Thursday (including a pcr), Friday and today all negative.

But...DD and DS both tested positive on Wednesday and Thursday. I know the test kits work because DS's test was the same box as mine.

I feel like I'm in limbo. Anyone else had the same experience?

Keep testing but I did have a cold at the same time DD had Covid. Pretty sure it was just a cold as I did 2 PCRs and daily LFTs plus my symptoms were a lot milder and started before hers.

It is strange - test again & do a throat swab

I’d isolate as if you have Covid vs go into work tomorrow if you can - but depends on your employer’s attitude I suppose

Could just be coincidence. You have a cold, they may have caught covid from school. But I would test again.

I already had a nasty cough when Dp tested positive. I had tested negative both on lft and pcr all week, then he tested positive, then a week later I tested positive with new symptoms.

There is some evidence to suggest having a could protects you from catching covid.

So still testing negative. Testing everyday before work. Even using a range of test kits. Must be just a random coincidence. My cold is far worse than the DC's asymptomatic covid and my mum's who was better after 3/4 days.

So second pcr done yesterday was also negative, so it must be 'just' a cold. Feel rough. My mum had covid and recovered quicker than me!
