Booster questions

If you have pfizer for vaccine you won't have it for booster?

By my NHS number they will know it's a booster by the card won't they?. Because my reminder just says vaccine. I know that is technically top up of a vaccine.

If different from pfizer vaccine how have you felt after? Have you felt worse after with booster?

Sorry for silly questions lol

DH has had 4 vaccines and his last reminder just said vaccine. They knew on the computer system which vaccines he had had previously.

He’s had 2 Oxford (hideous side effects) and 1 Pfizer/Comarity (no side effects) and the last vaccine said Spike moderna on his card -side effects similar to his first 2 vaccines but not quite as bad.

I had Moderna for booster and was ok. It would have been pfizer but no stock.

Startuplife · 05/03/2022 08:55

DP and I both had 2 Pfizer’s (no side effects at all) and then had Moderna as our booster. With Moderna DP had zero side effects but I felt a little rough in the evening. Our jab was at 4pm and by 9ish I was feeling a bit fluey. Nothing major at all though and I was totally back to normal the next day.
I’ll be honest, I was worried as I’d heard about people feeling really ill after Moderna but it was honestly fine.

I had Pfizer for my initial doses and for my booster. No side effects first dose, felt flu-like and aching hours 24-36 hours after both second and booster.

The vaccines are all the same regardless of how many you have.

Boosters are usually pfizer or moderna. It doesn't matter what your first two were.

Yes the NHS will know by your nhs number what you had before.

If this is your 4th dose you will need to take your letter with you.

This is part of my job.

My 2 sons had Moderna after 2 Pfizer vaccines, they were off work the following day, but ok the next. Husband has had 3 Pfizer vaccines, he was a bit unwell a couple of days each time. I had 2 AZ then Pfizer, no after effects for me at all, just sore arm.

PurpleDaisies · 05/03/2022 09:30

I’ve had three Pfizers.

PurpleDaisies · 05/03/2022 09:33

Sorry, posted too soon. I felt fine after the booster except for a sore arm. I’d felt rough after dose too so was expecting to feel rough again.

You have whatever they have in that day.

Richtea2 · 05/03/2022 09:54

Thank you all.

It's not correct that they are all the same. If Moderna is given as a booster it is a half dose (still 3x the equivalent dose of Pfizer). And yes, you can have any vaccine as a booster - there may be some slight advantage to have a mix, but really any vaccine is good.

Cookerhood · 05/03/2022 11:34

And the system knows what you've had & when.
