I had covid just over a month ago ( confirmed by pcr) never tested positive on a lft and only symptoms were tired and just felt a little off , but my ds had covid hence test
Last few days i now have a runny nose , slight headache which went with one paracetamol and i had alate night so part caused by lack of sleep, lots of sneezing and runny eyes today
My nose is only running on one sIde though other is clear
LFT negative and not been in contact as far as I know with anyone who has covid ( wfh) but do go out
But as i never tested positive before i only half trust the lft ( did show positive for my ds )
I don't qualify for a covid test plus could still test positive with a pcr anyway
So what do I do ? I wfh so no office to go into until late next week when have a meeting
My options are lft everyday just go be sure
Lie and get a pcr
Or just assume cold or even questioning allergy or something now as just one side of my nose other is totally clear

I don't know, but following as I'm in a similar boat. I had covid mid Jan, along with DS. Negative lft for days, positive pcr and then positive on lfts.

Dd now has it, and I feel exhausted again (Altho have been so fatigued since covid anyway), but I've been having the weird runny nose again, which I had last time. I've done abs lft this morning which is negative, and I figured it was pretty unlikely I could catch it again so soon, but I guess time will tell. Really hoping not, as I felt crap for ages last time and I'm still getting exhausted so easily.

In your shoes I'd maybe lft for the next day or two and if nothings showing probably get a pcr to double check. I don't know what the actual right thing to do is tho. It seems like most people don't even bother lft testing anymore so 🤷🏻‍♀️

I hope you feel better soon

I hope you feel better soon too
Yes most people seem to be ignoring or just relying on LFT some with event the actual 3 symptoms, which I don't have yet but didn't last time but was very very tired last time and this time i feel fine
I think i will just LFT for a few days and like you said if not better go for a pcr, I might even call 119 in the morning and see what they advise

If you take an antihistamine you'll find out whether it's an allergy🤷

paddingtonsmarmalade1 · 04/03/2022 18:07

Def call 119 before booking a PCR because it is likely to come back positive from your previous infection. See what they advise.

To be honest, I'm your situation I would probably do 5 days of avoiding indoor places eg shopping etc unless you absolutely had to, then wear a mask for another 5.
It's probably just some other virus, but if it's not hugely inconvenient to do the above then I just would... no one wants it whatever it is!

@paddingtonsmarmalade1 my smptims tech started weds night with sight headache and bit of runny nose , nose worse yesterday and sneezing and both a little worse now
Im upstairs watching tv in bed avoiding the rest of the house as no one needs a cold either , I will stay home whilst I have any symptoms at least
I wear a mask in shops etc anyway still and if I go to anyones house they will know i have recently had a cold
Cancelled long standing plans for meal out tomorrow night with old friends , as like you say no one wants a cold either

Still have rotten cold , loads of sneezing throat is ok and not really coughing at all maybe one bout of coughing every 24 hrs which is what i cough normally really
Feel a little drained and nose sore from wiping
I spoke to 119 who told me not to go for pcr with these symptoms as will likely show positive from last having end of jan, but to keep doing LFt , which so far have all been negative and others in the house doing them who are also negative , so thinking just a cold
Started weds so was hoping it would be gone by now , have stayed in for 5 days and nowhere to go until thurs now so even if it was covid again , I will of done isolation and negative tests etc anyway

Sorry to hear you are poorly again op. My DS tested positive in Dec after negative LFT so I didn't trust them either. However he got it again this month and tested positive on LFT. I definitely wouldn't PCR again. IT sounds like you are doing all you can to prevent spreading whatever this is anyway, fair play to you! I really hope that you feel better soon Flowers

Just coming back, as my friends little girl has just caught covid again, and she had it the same time we did in Jan, so it appears it is possible! I'm keeping everything crossed we don't catch it again now dd has it
