UTI caused by covid?

Whilst I wait for the GP phone lines to reopen after lunch...

Has anyone experienced a UTI caused by/at the same time as covid? Google has revealed a number of small scientific studies suggesting a link, so wondered if Mumsnet has any anecdotal evidence.

I have covid (day 3 since testing positive before symptoms) and yesterday started feeling UTI, today for definite. I do get them a couple of times a year, but sex is usually the trigger and not this time.

I will try to get a urine sample to the GP (via DH after work, lucky him!) so they can test for bacteria before giving antibiotics. If it's not bacterial then I guess I have to wait it out Sad

I got UTIs after each Covid vaccine (although not the booster). Definitely a connection for me.

yes several, linked to low wbc count post infection. Couldn’t fight off the bacteria. On antibiotics 6m.
