I’m guessing this text is a hoax?

I’ve just had a text message to say that I’ve been in close contact with someone who has just tested positive and then a link has been provided for me to order a self testing kit.

Seeing as nobody needs to text anymore I’m assuming this is just a dodgy hoax text?

Yes, it’s a scam, I googled the number. It was strange both my DH and myself got the text at exactly the same time.

Yes, DH got one and it was in one of the papers yesterday about it, they take your bank details for a small amount for the testing kit and then do the scam of ringing you back to say your bank has been compromised

Same here. Ignored it. The link they included was actually broken, so I'm guess8ng someone reported it.
