I currently have covid and felt pretty bad for a few days but seem to be on the mend now (hopefully). I'm in my 50's, jabbed but do feel some anxiety around covid still and worried I may have passed to vulnerable family members (luckily all ok so far).

I told a few close friends I tested positive and was worried and only one has messaged to see how I am/check my family are ok. I really feel they don't care...... but is this unreasonable? I know a lot of people feel it's mild now, like a cold, and are getting on with their lives (it hasn't been like a cold btw for me).

Everyone I know has had it pretty mildly so I probably wouldn't check in regularly with them, unless they had told me they were struggling.

Bytrgrewd · 28/02/2022 19:53

I totally get it. I have it mildly but still feel awful! Nothing like a cold. The tiredness, aches, nausea, brain fog - it’s really crap.

I hope you’re feeling better soon Flowers

stardustliz · 28/02/2022 20:07

@Haudyourwheesht

Thanks, sure that's it - I think I'm just feeling extra sorry for myself as feeling unwell.

@Bytrgrewd

Thanks for the reply and get well wishes. Hoping you also feel better very soon.

I have it at the mo too and feel lousy and sorry for myself, too @stardustliz! It’s just as you say, @Bytrgrewd. I tested positive a week ago and currently have a banging headache and nausea.

Get well soon, everyone

stardustliz · 28/02/2022 20:14

@WinterCarlisle Hope you feel better soon too.

How are you both feeling today?

EmmaStone · 01/03/2022 10:21

Hope you're feeling better today.

I tested positive yesterday and feel like I spent most of yesterday evening and half of this morning informing so many people (cancelling meetings, cancelling meet-ups with friends, telling family and friends, informing work colleagues...), and now having to respond to their responses. Am hoping they DON'T check in with me too much as the week progresses lol!

Not feeling too bad - at the moment just a head cold, and hoping it doesn't get much worse. Am working from home for now, but trying to build in rest and TV time too.

Bytrgrewd · 01/03/2022 13:19

Glad you don’t feel too bad and definitely make sure you rest 😊

stardustliz · 01/03/2022 18:04

@Bytrgrewd I am feeling better today in terms of cough/symptoms but feeling really fatigued, more than yesterday. I think I feel better just very tired..... still testing positive (day 5).

How about you? How are you feeling... I hope you are feeling better.

OP posts:
Bytrgrewd · 01/03/2022 19:41

Just tired and achy really but definitely getting better. I’ll be day 6 tomorrow so will be testing (Scotland so ours is test day 6 starting at day one)

stardustliz · 01/03/2022 20:09

@Bytrgrewd Glad you are feeling better. Think it is important to rest up

OP posts:
Bytrgrewd · 02/03/2022 09:31

Thank you. Yes definitely! I’ve had a busy morning- first day getting teenager back to school after covid and younger dc heading out early for a whole day sporting activity!
Sitting with a cuppa now.

stardustliz · 02/03/2022 10:56

@Bytrgrewd Glad you are much better. I am too today; although still testing positive I'm day 6 (Thursday was 0) Going to get a cuppa now too (taste better today too - was a bit odd yesterday)

I don't think it's not that they don't care.
I haven't had it yet, and so are my family. So I don't know what's it's going to be like. So if someone told me they got covid, I think I will still worry and check if they are ok.
But now so many people had it, so their take on covid must be biased by their own experience.
It's not as deadly as it used to be. So it's just becoming normal part of life, I think.

stardustliz · 02/03/2022 12:46

@grapehyacinthisactuallyblue Thanks, I think this is right as people aren't generally as worried now.

I'm not feeling so sorry for myself now (as am feeling much better) .

grapehyacinthisactuallyblue · 02/03/2022 13:24

Take care, and hope you feel better soon.

Bytrgrewd · 02/03/2022 15:10

I was a really strong positive today - oh well 😆
Glad you are on the mend - me too.

I do think by mild people think you feel ok. It’s a nasty Illness and mild still means feeling pretty crap in most cases.

stardustliz · 03/03/2022 11:06

Bytrgrewd I'm still positive - day 7. How about you?
The line looks slightly less bright (or maybe I am imagining this)

OP posts:
Bytrgrewd · 03/03/2022 12:35

Still strongly positive day 7 (your day 6). Maybe a tiny bit fainter if I really try 😆
Ds was strongly positive day 6 but negative day 8 so 🤞🤞

WinterCarlisle · 03/03/2022 12:40

I finally tested negative yesterday and Tuesday. Today’s day 10 since my positive PCR I feel loads better but definitely not 100%.

I never had any of the common pregnancy symptoms when I had my DC but I think how I feel now is probably similar to early pregnancy - super tired, slightly queasy, only wanting bland, beige food and a bit dizzy now and again. I also have a really runny nose and still feel a bit sinus-ey. Luckily I’m off this week as I don’t think I could cope with work.

Definitely trying to take it slowly, lots of fluids and early nights. Annoyingly, the person who I caught it from was absolutely fine after 24 hours. (I don’t obvs wish her any harm but I’m still a bit irritated HmmGrin).

How’s everyone else doing?

stardustliz · 03/03/2022 13:24

Glad you got your negative @WinterCarlisle Did the line gradually fade or did it just not appear ! I'm hoping for mine tomo. I'm generally feeling ok - resting up and a bit tired. Slightly congested still but hardly coughing anymore.

Hope you get your negative tomo @Bytrgrewd

Bytrgrewd · 03/03/2022 14:02

@WinterCarlisle glad you’re testing negative. And that’s a very god description of feelings!

Bytrgrewd · 03/03/2022 14:02

*Good not god!
