Hi, I’m day 7 of Covid today, have been relatively OK throughout, no cough or fever just bad sinus pain and dizziness. Anyway today I walked up the stairs and became really dizzy, heart rate was between 130 and 140. Felt awful. Lay down for an hour and heart still pounding away, rang the GP, told to ring 111 who then sent me an ambulance. Nothing exciting when they checked me over and advised to rest at home. Waiting to speak to the GP this afternoon.
Just wondering if anybody else has had this and if it is just a once off (I know no one can tell me this but looking for stories of the same!)
Thanks.

I get a high heart rate when I have any infection. Just rest up and keep up the fluids.

Yes - I had this and was admitted for tests.
It passed and I was fine. I also have POTS

Yes, it's not unusual to get high HR with an infection.

Still sitting at 120 when I’m lying in bed but just went through to the loo and went up to 148. Don’t feel quite as dizzy as I did this morning. Blimmin covid!

I developed a high resting heart rate with Covid, and 5 weeks on still suffering. My resting heart rate is usually in the 90s, but any low level activity pushes it above 100. At worst is was about 120, but I also had dangerously high blood pressure. Both have made feel dizzy/lightheaded, headachey and shakey. I've been sent to A&E twice, but have also had breathlessness and chest pain raising concern. Did they do an ecg?

I ended up being taken to hospital as my GP was worried about PEs. All was normal and ecg normal so they think it is just covid weirdness. Left just feeling absolutely exhausted and worried. Not a good combination!

Had covid back in December 2020 which caused tachycardia and heart palpitations simply walking up the stairs. Ended up going to hospital for steroids and then had a referral to a heart specialist and had a 24hour ECG. No unusual jumps found heart rate just constantly high (over 100 for about 8 hours a day) Having my covid jabs about 7 months later stopped the palpitations but my heart rate is still often high even sitting on the sofa and I'm over a year on.
I am asthmatic so not sure if that made a difference. It has definitely got better with time. It can be very scary, rest as much as possible.

@SaveFerris1 good you got checked out properly. I was checked out for the same, ecg was normal as was the first chest X-ray. Keep an eye of things - I was admitted again a week later, where second chest X-ray and CT scan showed hazy patches of fluid/infection in both lungs and partial collapse.
