Can I just check?

Sorry, I'm just confused with the rule change.
So I woke up at 2am feeling crappy & thought I'd do a lateral flow test. It's positive 😒
Do I just stay away from people until I do a negative one however long that takes? I know it's not a requirement legally but checking that's what I should do.

The advice is to isolate as before yes, but it’s no longer law.

Presuming you are in England and you've been fully vaccinated, what was previously law is now guidance. So if you have 2 negative LFTs from day 5 onwards you can leave isolation and you can leave after 10 day whatever.

Hope you feel better soon.

Is it still minimum 5 days though? Or if I test negative before then am I allowed out?

It's still minimum five days to try to reduce the likelihood of you infecting other people - LFTs don't always pick it up.

I think it’s still 10 days, 5 days if you get a negative lfts two days in a row.
