She’s 11 and fine thank god but first time we’ve dealt with it. Luckily. The rest is us negative at present. Would I be ok to go out for a late walk masked about 7pm?
Probably a pathetic question sorry

In England you can crack on as normal

Waxonwaxoff0 · 23/02/2022 14:22

Of course it is OK. Isolation is ending tomorrow in England.

ColettesEarrings · 23/02/2022 14:23

Technically not until tmrw actually, but no one gives a crap any more, so I'd do it for sure.

Jules912 · 23/02/2022 14:32

You or her? If you're vaccinated you can do what you like but she has to stay home. As others have said if you're in England then it changes tomorrow to only being advice. I would follow it if I had Covid as really don't want to infect anyone but a walk outside would be so low risk this wouldn't concern me.

rainbowandglitter · 23/02/2022 14:33

You're negative so why wouldn't you be able to go out? Like everyone says nobody has to isolate tomorrow anyway.

DearlyBeloathed · 23/02/2022 14:38

There is no legal obligation to isolate from tomorrow, so crack on.

MegCleary · 23/02/2022 14:39

Just me, she wouldn’t bless her. Just trying to get my steps up!

If you're fully vaccinated then you're free to go out and about anyway!
Theunamedcat · 23/02/2022 14:52

You can carry on as normal im wondering how schools are going to cope are children with mild symptoms be just going to school?

CagneyNYPD1 · 23/02/2022 14:58

DH and I are both positive at the moment. Dc are testing negative and are well so are both in school as per guidelines in England.

You are negative. As long as you don't have symptoms, you are free to go out as you please.

Usernumber5253747293 · 23/02/2022 15:01

Of course you can.

nearlyspringyay · 23/02/2022 15:05

Of course you can. So can she from tomorrow. Although covid can't tell the time so I'd take her out today if she wanted to.

OnceuponaRainbow18 · 23/02/2022 15:07

@nearlyspringyay

Why would you take your contagious kid out?

Theunamedcat · 23/02/2022 15:17

Because you can? Because its just a mild illness for many and the government is stopping help so people are going to go back to work with covid school with covid shopping with covid Because that's life now

MegCleary · 23/02/2022 15:23

@nearlyspringyay the info from track and trace was she needs negative tests Sunday and Monday to leave isolation.

This is true, legally, at the moment. From midnight it’s just advice. I’m still going to follow it though (currently on day 1 of isolation).

Our school has been remarkably quiet on the subject but I'd assume while they're still advised to isolate schools won't take them, much like they won't with D&V bugs. Of course it'll be a different matter next term when there's no testing.

Not from tomorrow

OnceuponaRainbow18 · 23/02/2022 15:37

@Theunamedcat

So you do stuff just because you can? I can buy fags doesn’t mean I do!

Well, you stay at home then and others will crack on!

That could be because she has tested positive before the change. Check whether they are giving you guidance or instructions. If the latter, she will be legally compelled to follow them. If the former, then it’s a moral decision to make.

There wasn't anyway if it's not you testing positive and you're vaccinated.
Fedupsotired · 23/02/2022 15:43

All asymptotic children will be in school anyway from tomorrow (or next week for those of us on half term now).

We've been out to a zoo and it was the first time that no one was wearing masks! So weird as usually in the supermarket people are wearing them but when we all walked into the arena for an animal show there wasn't a single one being worn! Felt odd

DaisyWaldron · 23/02/2022 15:44

Would you keep her at home if she had chicken pox? Omicron is both more contagious and more deadly than chicken pox.

CagneyNYPD1 · 23/02/2022 15:45

@CagneyNYPD1

You are negative. As long as you don't have symptoms, you are free to go out as you please.

Just to add - this is no cold. DH and I both triple jabbed. Both healthy people in our 40s. No underlying health needs. Rarely get ill etc etc. First time with Covid now and it has hit us both hard. Flu and upset stomachs. In bed for most of the day.

So we will of course stay at home until we feel well enough not to, despite what other's say. As I said, this is not a cold.
