Ahh. As predicted, they announce the end of free testing and people have gone wild on ordering the free ones 😂 Shock.

Yes. Is it only the UK who have had free tests?

As far as I can see the answer to that is yes. France, Italy, Spain, ROI, none of them have free LFT. I think they were free for a while in Germany but not for months now.

frenchiemummy92 · 23/02/2022 06:27

It's now changed from been able to order a box every 24 hours to one every 72 hours so that's probably why

labyrinthlaziness · 23/02/2022 06:30

@Katya213

Why do people want them as the need to test stops on Thurs? I'm just curious in case I've missed something
Confused what is this question?

Because covid is still very prevalent and people don't want to pass it to elderly relatives.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 23/02/2022 06:35

Because my FIL's cancer will continue past Thursday. He is about to have a stem cell transplant so will have no immunity. We will need to test before any contact with him.

AlwaysLatte · 23/02/2022 06:39

I don't really get it either. When are you supposed to do a LFT after Thursday, just in day to day life?
I'll still be using them too. I do a lot for my elderly Dad, who has a serious lung condition. Lots of people are in a similar position.

BluebellsGreenbells · 23/02/2022 08:16

But I doubt the carers will be doing LFT - the government want it to stop.

So pointless you doing one of those giving personal care aren’t, or the nurses or doctors etc.

Their "72 hours" is a bit odd. I think orders on Sunday may count as Monday as I was rebuffed this morning.

It’s 72 hours to the minute.
amicissimma · 23/02/2022 16:26

Well, 6am Sunday to 9am Wednesday is more than 72 hours.
