Coughing up yellow mucus

So I'm on day 3 of covid - yay.

Feel abit better overall but I am coughing quite abit sometimes dry but then I get moments where I'm really mucussy and I cough up yellow phlegm. Has anyone else had this? I thought the covid cough was usually dry? Just wondering if something else is going on too! Poxy germs.

Hi i am on day 12ish and have been coughing up a lot of phlegm of the yellow and green variety daily (its getting a lot less now though). I too thought it was supposed to be a dry cough but nope! Its such think horrible gunk, it also gets trapped in the roof of my mouth and feels so uncomfortable.
It will get better, hang in there!

It's your body fighting the virus that's all. Omicron isn't like other variants, it can cause a chesty cough like a cold.

@Isababybel oh that's reassuring I was thinking maybe I had an infection on top of covid! Yeah I really thought that too! Guess all these variants are changing things up. Glad to hear it's getting better for you, Thankyou!
