How long until you tested positive?

My son had Covid last week, first test to show a faint positive was last Sunday. He was quite poorly at times and I couldn't just leave him crying so I have been exposed. He's been negative for 3 days now. I'm fully vaccinated but sort of expecting to now come down with it to.

When should I be in the clear?

Over the last 2 days my throat and tongue have become sore and my nose a bit snuffly. I've been testing but still am negative, it could be just a sore throat. Could it be Covid?

I didn't test positive until day 4 of symptoms

What were your symptoms?

I tested positive on day 3. I started with a bit of a sore throat bbut was still testing negative at that point.

Titsywoo · 20/02/2022 23:10

My kids both tested positive 3 days after coming into contact with positive case (same day they got first symptoms). For me it was 4 days after contact and same for the person I passed it onto at work.

First symptom for me was sneezing a lot. For kids it was fatigue and headache/backache.

I tested positive 2 days after the sore throat came on.

DS sent home from school on 11th, he was negative on LfT. I didn't isolate away from him and PCR was positive.

I tested negative on LFT 17th so met with friends. That night DC2 began with symptoms. His PCR came back Fri positive. I am still negative on LFT.

Saturday 19th I felt rough, so despite another negative LFT I went for a PCR, this has come back positive.

I had a temperature, sore throat and just generally feeling shite

Household transmission here. First person positive on 5th Feb. 2nd person positive 8th Feb. 3rd person positive 18th Feb. So 3 days and 10 days!

Counting Sunday as day zero, my DH's symptoms appeared on day 10 (2 March for you), his LFT was negative on that day, but positive following day.

50gold · 21/02/2022 11:56

Still negative. Is it possible to have Covid but not show up on LFT? But will on a PCR ?

I tested negative on LFTs and a PCR days 1-3 of symptoms, then strong positive LFT day 4.

GinGella · 21/02/2022 17:10

Symptoms started on the weds tested positive on the Saturday. So far everyone else in my house negative but we aren't isolating I'm just not going out.

redferrari · 21/02/2022 18:42

We all tested negative at home when my son was positive. He was asymptomatic and only tested because his friend at school came down with fever and tested positive. I only did an LFT as we didn't have any symptoms. (Been positive before in dec 2020 and have taken jabs and boosters)

50gold · 22/02/2022 13:46

My PCR has just come back negative so it looks like I just have a cold etc
