LFT after covid

I have covid. Once this is done can I do away with testing for a bit? What about my little one for nursery? Do I have to keep testing them for a cough even though they have had covid?

You are exempt from routine asymptomatic testing for 90 days technically but if you have new symptoms you can test within 90 days. Pcrs are more likely to pick up old virus compared to lft.

I thought we'd get away with testing for a while after we all had covid in December but I was totally wrong.

Dd had covid twice within 5 weeks - December then Jan. she caught it off me & Dp in December and had minimal symptoms, we all had it. She then developed new symptoms in Jan after a large outbreak in her class and tested positive again, the rest of us didn't catch it the second time. I did daily lft's after Dd got it again and all negative as were dp's.

So yes if your child was to get a new cough or symptoms then you would need to test again.

Testing and isolation will soon hopefully be a thing of the past though - in England anyway! 🤞
