Cough 3 weeks after covid?

DD is 6, tested positive on 24th January. She didn’t ever test negative. But I got it immediately after her but tested negative on my Day 6 (her day 11).

She was quite ill with it; high heart rate, completely off food, extremely tired etc.

She seemed to be more or less recovered last week, but has suddenly developed a cough.

I’m worried if I test her she’ll have to miss more school, more activities, more routine when it could still be the same infection as 3-4 weeks ago. She has some SN and although not autistic absolutely thrives on routine. She also hasn’t had any overnight contact with her dad this year due to covid, and then a sickness bug so she’s absolutely desperate to go this weekend.

If she tests positive ExH won’t have her at all.

So is a cough developing 3 weeks later normal?

She could have it again, or she could have another virus.
Have you got an LFT you can do ?

@GeneLovesJezebel I'm hoping she doesn't have it again. I don't get paid if I don't work, I can't afford another 10 days without pay, I lose between £45 and £65 per day!

I have so LFTs I think.

@GeneLovesJezebel My concern is she never tested negative the first time, I stopped testing her on day 12, what if it#s the same infection?

If she’s got new symptoms she really should go for a PCR.
But it’s up to you what you do.

@GeneLovesJezebel I've done an LFT which was negative so I think it's either post covid cough, or a slight cold. She's fine in herself, complete opposite of how she was with covid.
