'You have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid'.

How do the know? I've not got the T&T app. Had it but deleted it over a year ago.

Someone gave your name and contact details directly.

My relative had a scam text like this recently

SizzlingSeptember · 17/02/2022 08:01

It came through as a text with a link which I haven't clicked on. I saw one person yesterday (she won't have my mobile number). The only people I've been in close contact with over the last 5 days are my partner dd. I would know if they had tested positive.

Have just done a lft which was negative. I have to go to work today.

Ignore it.

Tried calling the number attached to it. It went to an 02 messaging service ...hmmm

It’s a scam if there’s a link, I had the same text. T&T phone you in my experience but that may have changed with Omicron being so rife.

Someone from work had a scam text asking them to update their vaccination status on the NHS jab app. When they hit the link it was asking them to pay to do it !
Just delete and ignore.

This is the genuine text from NHS T&T I got when DD tested positive three weeks ago,
She gave my number to T&T when she completed her contacts form. Does it match that?
It might not be someone you've seen in recent days, but it would be within their infectious period - which might be more than five days ago if they've taken a while to get the test result and complete the paperwork.

No it doesn't. I think it's a scam. I've deleted it now without clicking the link in it. It said something like 'someone who you have been in contact with has tested positive fir the Omicron variant. Please order a PCR test as soon as you can (gives the link)

Sounds like a scam
