Someone in work has tested positive and gone into isolation for the fourth time!!! Not even 4 times close together but spread out over the 2 years.

Well that is unfortunate.

Where do they think they’ve caught it? Does them being off hugely impact your work load?

Porcupineintherough · 16/02/2022 20:20

Bloody hell, I've done 3 and that's bad enough. I've found it gets milder each time though, hope it's the same for them.

Penvelopey · 16/02/2022 20:20

Oh poor things! Are they sure the first one was covid? Was testing around then?

Porcupineintherough · 16/02/2022 20:23

Theyve found that 1 in 5 people dont make lasting antibodies- I'm one of them and I guess this person is another. If you dont then it's easy enough to see how you could pick up multiple infections, esp if (like me) you have kids at school.

All4Love · 16/02/2022 20:27

@Penvelopey

NHS staff were tested for Covid antibodies.

I seee.
Sounds like awfully bad luck.

mantlepiece · 16/02/2022 20:39

Do you think it’s to do with different mutations?

I haven’t had it once.

Porcupineintherough · 16/02/2022 20:46

Well I've certainly not had the same mutation twice but then the old ones seem to disappear, so maybe I would if they hung around.

PupInAPram · 17/02/2022 03:46

It's a school @OMGItsEarly so lots of contact with unmasked children and adults. I work in the same place and by some happy miracle have not had it once (lft twice a week).

Blimey. I’ve not had it once yet.

JaceLancs · 17/02/2022 18:35

Most amongst my friends and family is 3 times - quite a few 2
I’ve escaped so far no idea why as I don’t work from home or restrict my movements

I know someone who's tested +ve four times. They're not NHS, but have to meet a lot of vulnerable people. They tested June 2020, November 2020, April 2021 and December 2021.
They were worst on the April one.

ifonly4 · 19/02/2022 10:55

I know of a teacher who's had it four times.

BustopherPonsonbyJones · 19/02/2022 11:08

I posted about this months ago and was accused of lying by those who were insistent that schools were safe as we would all have ‘had it’ and were therefore immune! Unfortunately, those of us who work in schools have experienced some of the ‘worst’ Covid infection control measures and were bound to notice earlier than most when that didn’t happen. I have also seen some people on their fourth round of Covid and a significant number on round three. There is seemingly no pattern as to how they feel as some suffered more with delta/omicron and some with Wuhan/Kent. Delta seemed to leave the children with more lasting symptoms though - coughs and other respiratory illnesses seem to keep coming back. It is an interesting virus (not in a good way!).

@BustopherPonsonbyJones

Reinfections are happening but some people are in Lala Land and minimising the long term effects of this virus.
