PCR or not? So confused. Symptomatic but negative

My DD has symptoms of Covid - a cough, headache and a cold but every single test LFT she has done comes up negative. She has done 10 over the last few days and not even a feint line. Two of her friends currently have covid. Do we presume this is right or does she need a PCR. NHS website says she doesn't need a PCR if LFT is negative. My dad says she needs to get a PCR before school tomorrow so she doesnt put others at risk! So confused.

She does need a PCR if she has symptoms
She doesn't need a follow up PCR if she gets a positive LFT

P.s. I think you're reading the nhs website wrongly

Yes, she needs a PCR as she has symptoms

Thank you. I am not sure what I was reading but have found it now. Can't believe we have gone this long without having to get a PCR for anyone in the family so all a bit new to us.

You’ve been very lucky then - I was going for them weekly at one point with various family members Grin

It's very common to get false negative LFTs. There are countless posts about it.
