Tested a toddlers snotty tissue (snotty enough to not actually touch the tissue with the stick)??

I can't face doing yet another swab, but the cough and snotty nose is back again.

Or has anyone had a positive form doing this?

They don't like the snot if you are sending it for a pcr

I know, it's just more 'wet' and if I so much as rustle the kit he's screaming....so thought I'd give it a go.

Was curious to know if anyone had ever tested positive from doing similar

My DD (4) goes mental at the suggestion of a test, and has had to be fully restrained in past to do it - very traumatic for everyone! I now do it whilst she's asleep - usually 30-1hr after she's gone to bed and she's sleeping deeply. She just sort of bats her hand at her nose, and if she wakes at all she doesn't know that we've done it.

A friend told me she does her toddler when she's sound asleep. I thought it was a great idea!

I swabbed the inside of my sons cheek and got a positive.

It's epithelial cells you need, not snot. The snot will do nothing.

I swabbed DS' snot last week out of interest and it came back positive. I also accidentally used the wrong end of the swab and it also still came back positive. As you might be able to tell, I've done a LOT of LFTs this recently...

@mynameiscalypso 😂 I tried to show how easy it was and used the wrong end on myself!!

A lot of viruses going round at the moment, which isn't really helping!

I may try the tissue then, seems as though if you are positive you are positive.
