Long wait for PCR result. Anyone else?

Just that really. PCR test midday on Thursday in walk through test centre (South coast). Still no results - on other occasions have always been around 24hrs even at super busy times.

SE mine have all been back in around 13 hours over the last 2 weeks. I would call to check they've been registered correctly if it was me.

119 won't chase them for you yet but they will be able to make sure they're registered

I would definitely chase that! We’re in the north west but tested Thursday morning and the result took 21 hours. It’s been about that anytime we’ve done a PCR, even at the busiest times

Thank you - called 119 and found that they hadn't registered my details properly. Result came through immediately - positive! I knew as had a mixture of negative & very faint lines.

How annoying! DH got tested at the very beginning of testing being available. Stayed in the bedroom for over a week waiting for results, they refused to check whenever we rang. Eventually found out they had lost his test! So we’ll never know if he had it then

@Smashedavacado it happened to us last year. We'd been waiting 40 hours and everyone else I know had them in less than 24. I called up and the test site hadn't registered them - and we were negative so had waited in for nothing!

Just coming to the end of our 10 days for positive results now, I hope you sail through without too many symptoms.

tryingnottopanic33 that must have been really frustrating. It doesnt help that the 119 recorded says they can't chase for 72 hours.
Oddly the lateral flows line seems to get stronger as my symptoms disapear - today I feel completely normal and it was a strong postive!

I sent a test for me and DH on Tuesday and still no result. They've been registered properly (I checked) but they wouldn't track until 5 full days. They arrived at the testing place at 1am Wednesday. Still have symptoms so will be resending tomorrow. DS has been positive as of 9 days ago but neither me or DH have tested positive on LF.
Never had a problem but these were pre registered, wonder if that's causing issues.
