Hi

For those of you with both parents testing positive how did you get your negative kids to school?

Drove them to the school park they got out and walked in to breakfast club themselves. They walked home themselves at the end of the school day. This obviously won’t work for everyone. Is there a neighbour or another parent who could take your children to school for you?

Are you allowed to drive them to school? I was worried as I wasn't sure if we where Allowed 🤷

No you are not supposed to leave the house unless for a medical appointment so you are not allowed to leave house to take children to school. That said, so many people are just doing what they want, as children have missed so much school.

No technically you’re not but you weren’t allowed to have parties during lockdown either were you 🤷🏼‍♀️
They have missed so much school and if you can drive to school and they can walk themselves in without you having to get out of the car then common sense tells you that you’re not going to pass it on to anyone.
In a couple of weeks isolation will have ended anyway. I’m completely asymptomatic as well. I know I didn’t follow the ‘rules’.

When 2 of us were positive, I kept the negative child off school. Seemed totally stupid to send him in.
But we were really, really ill with it. Woildnt be guaranteed that I would be capable of driving to pick him up and we are too far to walk with no public transport so there was that issue as well.

My friends drove their kid near to school and I got them out the car and walked them into their classroom as still in reception and Year 1

Our school told me to drive DD & a teacher would meet her from the car, which is what I did all week. We’ve also helped each other out on the class WhatsApp, I’ve picked up several kids over the months with positive parents & taken them to school. I’m not worried about covid so happy to help!

You are technically not allowed to leave the house but you can also be fined for not sending your kid in Hmm My DD did not need to miss anymore school & didn’t catch it from me, probably because she was out of the house away from me from 8.45am-4.45pm! School is 5 minutes away, in the million to one chance my car broke down, I’d have just walked us both back home wearing my mask. The post box to post PCR tests back is further away than school & its ok to walk to that when positive so.. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I called in loads of favours! Also booked wrap around care for one day and phoned when I arrived so they just sent dc out - they could see me in the car. Forced me to admit DC is old enough to cross the main road alone as they did it 4 times and live to tell the tale!
