Just what I bloody needed after the week we've had! 🙄
Has anyone had this result before? We've been for eleventy million pcrs and never had this. My son is really snotty at the moment so wondering if there was too much snot on the swab.

We have covid in the house, but also a cold too. All of us bar the covid positive person are testing negative on lfts and a couple of us with cold symptoms have tested negative on pcrs. My son started with cold symptoms yesterday and I have no idea whether he has his younger sister's cold or his older sister's covid! It feels relentless.
If you've had this result before, what did your follow up test go on to say?
TIA

I’ve had this before. Follow up test was negative.

Tufty383 · 10/02/2022 05:43

Ours was because DH forgot to leave the swab in the tube, he swirled it around and binned it.

Could also be lab error - dropped samples, samples not stored correctly etc. It’s a bit of a pain but will have to be redone

We had that, so annoying! Next pcr was positive.

Boofay · 10/02/2022 12:56

Thanks all. We've gone for a second pcr this morning. Eldest son has started coughing too so we're awaiting two pcr results.
Eldest DD has started testing negative (day 7 today) so if the boy's pcrs are negative we might just be through it. I have this horrid knot of anxiety that it's not over yet though so desperate for their results to hurry back.

We that twice and both follow ups were positive.

Glad yours isn't.
