DD's test from this morning, definitely not positive after 10 minutes, but I forgot to check it again after that - and it now looks like this. We have Covid in the house - DH is on day 2, older dc x 2 are now at tail end. Dd is very hard to test so I'm never confident I'm getting a decent sample - and also no way she'll let me do another test now, hopefully I'll manage one in the morning. DH thinks I'm seeing things!

I can see a line

WaystarRoycoCEO · 09/02/2022 19:18

It’s possible but if it’s after 30m it could just be the way it’s evaporated and you’re not supposed to read them after that time for a reason. We’ve had a couple that have been clearly negative up to 30m but if you leave them for longer end up drying up to look a little bit like a line.

Madmog · 09/02/2022 20:12

My LFT looked flooded about 40 mins later with a line like that (never had that before). DH said he couldn't see it though. Already feeling ropey and DH had tested positive that day. I did a couple of tests, one in the night (as I couldn't sleep) which had the faintest line (most people would have missed it I suspect), then at 7am and there was a faint line. It took another 24 hours for a proper red line.

Given it's in the house I don't think you can ignore it. As she's difficult to get, I'd take her for a PCR to be sure, rather than one or two LFTs and then having to resort to a PCR.

Thanks for replies.
@Madmog that's what I was thinking (booking PCR rather than attempting another LFT). DH thinks I've lost the plot - to be fair, after almost a month of having Covid in the house (I tested positive mid-Jan), I think I probably have!

I think it’s flooded and there’s actually a white test line where it would be pink if positive. But as there’s Covid in the house I would test again tomorrow. Does she have any symptoms?

Looks a complete mess

Take another test

MissCrowley · 10/02/2022 08:16

If you had covid mid Jan why would you be testing so soon after?
Even if it is a line it may not be a new infection.

pinkpip100 · 10/02/2022 19:34

@MissCrowley it's my dd's test, not mine. Though to be fair I am still testing twice a week for work.
Her test today is a clear negative, so probably just an evaporation line.
