Where did DH get covid from?

Lighthearted and we'll never know, but he excludes the option I think it most likely.

  1. Saw BIL close for 5 mins inside who tested positive two days later (has been struggling with asthma on and off recently, so thought earlier symptoms were that). DH had symptoms nine days later, positive next day.
  1. Gym, he reckons he kept distance, sanitised and came home to shower. DH had symptoms six days later, positive next day.
  1. Tescos (less than 5 mins), paying SS, with mask on
  1. Night out with myself and friends, 30 mins in busy pub and curry. Friends do not have symptoms and tested negative up to 10 days later. Myself and friends sat closer to other people in both venues. DH had symptoms 36 hours later, tested positive next day. I had symptoms 2.5 days later, tested positive 2.5 days later.
  1. Only other direct contact was me, but my symptoms and positive followed his.

I’d go for 3. Is that the option he won’t agree with?

Ifeellikedancing · 09/02/2022 17:18

1

RedToothBrush · 09/02/2022 17:20

Pub.

JorisBonson · 09/02/2022 17:22

DH got his bout from the gym.

Cookerhood · 09/02/2022 17:23

Pub & curry. Although you'll never know, of course.
Which one is he opting for?

Orchid876 · 09/02/2022 17:25

I reckon you and your OH both got it at the same time, so I’d say 3. But is there another scenario that he has ruled out?

thaegumathteth · 09/02/2022 17:56
  1. Think he wouldn't test positive so soon
  2. Possible but think he'd have tested positive sooner
  3. Unlikely
  4. You both caught it at the pub ✅

Walking past a random in the street.

Cookerhood · 09/02/2022 21:05

Positive so soon for 1.? It was 9 days

SazCat · 09/02/2022 21:10

Going by our timings, I'd say 1

Which 3? Tesco or pub?
RosiePosieDozy · 09/02/2022 21:13

Could be any. Could be something like opening the post and rubbing his eyes/touching his mouth.

Nikki305 · 09/02/2022 21:14

Incubation period tends to be 3-4 days for Omicron, but that doesn't really help here!

That's been long since dismissed as a possible route of infection.
TulipsGarden · 10/02/2022 01:41

Pub, almost certainly. Omicron is pretty quick and it only takes one person breathing out Covid in the pub to get to everyone in the same airspace.

Pub

The gym would be my guesses... The fact he sanitised and showered is completely irrelevant as Covid is airborne. And as for distancing, the 2m thing doesn't really hold in sweaty environments with lots of deep breathing.
