Positive lft middle of Jan, developed a cough but nothing else. Finally tested negative on lft on days 8 and 9. Three weeks without symptoms. Meanwhile covid still circulating in class (primary age) - regular letters about "A case" in your class. Bad cough this morning, did an Lft (yes I know PCR for symptoms but wanted an initial check) - positive!

With the new symptoms and the negative LFTs between positive results, it does seem like it is a new infection. But 4 weeks? So frustrating. Symptoms are mild thankfully but obviously it is now another isolation period.

My dd had it 5 weeks apart.
But we only tested once (the second time) so I am questioning if she really had it the second time round. No symptoms and neither dh or I caught it second time🤷🏽‍♀️
Maybe keep testing to see if it is a one off or if you really have it.

I’m sorry OP, it’s rubbish isn’t it Sad
DD tested positive this morning, exactly 8 weeks after the last time. I’m pretty certain it was omicron back then too.
I know the official line is that omicron hasn’t been around long enough to know how long immunity lasts, but I was really hoping for longer than 5-8 weeks!

This has been my worry, I don't want everyone getting ill every 5 weeks! Wonder if a pcr would flag up what varient you have... You'd think the scientists would want to know this

Hearing anecdotally of quite a few reinfections within a short timeframe. Official line is can't be within 90 days. It is odd though - unless people are picking up the other omicron variant? I don't know. Sorry though and hope feels better soon.
