Ten days + and still positive

I've had Covid. Today is the final day of my ten day isolation period. I've felt ok for the last three days, but I am still getting very strong red lines on my home tests.

I'm due back in work tomorrow. Am I still infectious? I don't want to take the virus into work as several colleagues have clinical vulnerabilities so I'm not sure what to do. (It's not the kind of job I can do from home unfortunately).

I would ask for guidance from your employer. Strictly speaking you have done your isolation regardless of the positive LFt and you are free to go. I've read some posts on here where people continue to test positive for weeks afterwards.

Yes it is quite common to still test positive after 10 days, some people take longer to clear the virus. It's difficult to say for sure if you're still infectious. I agree with PP that you should speak to your employer and let them make the decision. At my work we ask people to stay away for a further 5 days if they test positive on day 10.

Thank you. I've spoken to work and they want me in. Still concerned though. I will wear a mask and try to distance as much as I can.
