As above! Everything tastes of soap and is horrible even Pringles. Please someone tell me it only lasted a day!

2 days here! I was most disappointed as it fell on my wine and takeaway nights!! Very pleased for it to return, my OH didn't loose his at all though

Almost 3 weeks here. Everything tastes like vinegar. Gone right if crisps too which I normally love

pho03 · 07/02/2022 19:52

4 days for me

Dp lost it for 3 days. Suddenly went, suddenly come back. Nothing gradual about it going or returning.

For me it did quite a lot longer. It fully went for maybe 4-5 days but it took a few weeks for taste to come back fully. Some days were more tasteless than others. I couldn't taste over Christmas which sucked. funnily enough I had a throat infection the previous Christmas which affected my taste buds (from being so swollen). Not being able to taste for 2 Christmasses in a row sucked!

It can be months in some people. I'm not sure how I would cope with that. I really feel for people who haven't been able to taste in months!

For me I completely lost it for a day and half and it came back suddenly.

Day 7 and the first day salt and vinegar crisps have tasted disgusting!

Sarahbeeney · 07/02/2022 22:46

I’m on day 11 and can’t smell or taste much.

I know sound like I have a heavy cold…. But not cold symptoms apart from congestion which I guess explains the smell/taste thing??

I had Covid 3 weeks ago, and still have no smell or taste at all, I'm still really blocked up in my sinuses, I've spent a fortune on over the counter medication but nothing helps at all

Heathway · 08/02/2022 04:59

2 months to fully come back, started tasting and smelling things bit by bit by 6 weeks.

faeriesandelves · 08/02/2022 22:02

I'm 3 weeks post Covid and everything tastes bitter. Even fruit, eg honeydew melon and strawberries. It's strange. I'm very sensitive to smells and can't bear to even light a scented candle. I'm going to try and retrain my brain. I hear there's a way to do it with smelling salts.

16 months still no proper taste ( some foods have no taste, some some foods taste vile) smell has returned slightly.

SilkySusan · 08/02/2022 23:37

Mine only went partially (dulled) and for a couple of days.

CatherineCawood · 08/02/2022 23:39
