Different results off different lfts

Tested positive last night week on pcr after almost 8 days of negative lfts, day after I test positive a nasal only lft shows a very faint positive, throat and nose was negative, tested again today with nose and throat one and again the line is barely there, just for pure curiosity though I did a nasal only one at exactly the same time and that's showing a very strong positive still - now run out of nasal only so will have to rely on the throat and nose ones but why such a difference? Does it mean I am doing the throat and nose ones wrong? Can I just swab my nose with the throat and nose ones (as they advise with kids)?

Do you need to test today? What day are you on?

Thismummyrunstheshow · 06/02/2022 23:24

I'm very similar. My nasal test showed me positive a few days ago but I've ran out and using nose and throat LFT's and got a negative today!

Still feel unwell and only day 5!

I am day 5 tomorrow so will test tomorrow and see what it says - def don't feel well so I wouldn't go out anyway even if it was negative on days 5 & 6 - worrying though at how different 2 tests could be!

So since my last post I've done 2 more tests which have shown very faint positives! Same box, different results.

The testing continues!

A throat and nose LFT gave me my first positive - I had a slight sore throat at the time. I did a Flowflex nasal swab next day and it was negative. Next day my sore throat disappeared and I developed a blocked nose. Tested on day 5 with Flowflex nasal and the line was very, very bright. I reckon it depends where the virus is concentrated most.

I agree with this. The day I tested positive I had a sore throat... Nose and throat test showed the faintest squinter of a line. I then just swabbed my throat and it came up with a really thick line.

Dd is currently on Day 7. She tested positive yesterday morning with nasal only, then negative last night with old style test. This morning a slight positive with new style nasal test. She currently has no symptoms. She had a bad cold last week and lost her voice.
