How long contagious with a positive lft?

Sorry if this is a daft question. DS is day 7 and still testing positive. DD is medically vulnerable. We are all still testing negative. At what point can I be confident that we haven't caught covid from her?

Contacts test for 7 days so I’d think by then?

That's what I was hoping - but if DS is still testing positive at day 7, surely we could still catch it whilst he's positive?

You can test positive for about thirty days so I don’t think you can be contagious for that long. I’d say if you still haven’t caught it now then you’re probably clear. Especially if he had omicron - that’s much quicker for people to have symptoms.
My whole family have recently had covid and I just didn’t catch it. On day ten now too!

That's great news!

DH had brief contact with someone. He developed symptoms on day 10, test positive on day 11. It's highly unlikely he got it elsewhere at a later date.

That's interesting thanks. I've answered my own question as I've tested positive on DS's day 8.
