What happened on Jan 31st?

Sorry if this has been covered before, I did have a quick look through and didn't see it.

Number of new cases on
30th Jan - approx 60,000
31st Jan - approx 890,000!
1st Feb - approx 80,000

Has someone accidentally add an extra zero? Or backdated a load of cases from the year before or something?

I think reinfections were back dated and added.

Yes, reinfections were added retrospectively (but only those more than 90 days apart).
