Long Term Vaccine Effects

Hi,
Has anyone else had long term effects from the vaccine? I'm 6 months down the line and wondered if there are any UK based support groups etc. There are Facebook groups and pages with people with symptoms similar to me, but they're all US based.
I'd just like somewhere to talk to people in a similar situation to me.

@Shambleseya

I would be incredibly careful about finding social media groups to discuss your fears. The best advice would be to speak to your GP, and get the best support available in real life.
Social media is rife with disinformation and hearsay. What is a problem for you now, could ultimately be made a lot, lot worse by people giving you incorrect information.
The disinformation around - when you look at source level - much of it is spread by people with an extreme agenda.

You need good, professional and balanced advice.

Agreed. Facebook groups will be full of people attributing various things to the vaccine that in fact had nothing to do with it.

I'm going too disagree...

A support group is different from those Facebook groups supporting, whatever...

Do you mean a support group where real people meet up, and, well, support each other?

  • I'm going TO disagree

Sheesh!

OP what are you experiencing? Perhaps this thread may open up a way to connect with others experiencing similar issues caused by the vaccine. Honestly feel as though you can't write anything negative regarding the vaccine on mumsnet without people trying to dissuade you from speaking your truth.
There is this website: coronavirus-yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/ I'm not sure how helpful it will be to you. Take care.

Yes, 9 months on here from 1st (and only) jab. Another brain scan and yet another medication change this week.

I’m off the blood thinners at last though.

(There are still many people who tell me it’s a coincidence or all in my head, I’m thinking of getting the letter from the consultant saying it’s attributed to the vaccine and a known side effect printed on a t shirt as I’m sick of the sound of my own voice).

Shambleseya · 07/02/2022 06:09

Thank you everyone. I thought I replied but it's disappeared.

I have sought professional advice and I have been referred to various consultants. Unfortunately none of them will acknowledge that my symptoms (migraines, high blood pressure, heart palpitations, pain and exhaustion amongst other things) have been caused by the vaccine. This is despite the symptoms starting the very next day.

I am (was) pro-vaccine and pro-science, but when your life is ruined by something that everyone dismisses, you end up in a lonely place. And anything written on Social Media is promptly deleted. I'm not an anti-vaxxer, I know some lucky people have had no reactions. But some of us have been left completely debilitated and I wonder how many others are just being ignored.

Sloughsabigplace, sorry to hear you're suffering too. I'm amazed that a consultant has acknowledged the link though, all the medical staff I've seen (which is A LOT) are reluctant to even put the link in writing but it's undeniable.

Thanks for the comments and the PMs. Fingers crossed everyone affected recovers to some extent before too long.

Definitely continue to push for real life help, difficult though that is. You'll end up down a rabbit hole of lunacy if you join any social media groups.
Hope you get to the bottom of it and get better soon. Flowers
