Had pretty bad Covid

I've been feeling so sick with Covid but haven't needed hospital treatment. I had all 3 vaccines (2X AZ and 1X Moderna).

Is it safe to say that I would have been one of the unlucky ones and ended up in hospital or worse if I had not been vaccinated or had caught Covid a year ago? Am in my early 50s.

There's no way of knowing really, but I hope you feel better soon.

Hard to say but yes possibly. There's no way of knowing how any of us would have been without the vaccines. I caught it over new year and was lucky enough to have mild symptoms, DP had none and my teen and 6 year old were hardly affected. The vaccines do their job in my opinion. Me and DP triple jabbed and my teen had 1

Worse, probably, in hospital not necessarily. I caught the Wuhan strain March 2020 and was proper ill in bed for 3 weeks, then up around the house with lots of rest for another 3 then just plain not right for another 18 months. Never needed hospital though. A lot of us w long COVID came from that first wave, I think vaccines have decreased the probability of that, along with serious disease and death.

You can’t know individually. On a population level, you are more likely to go to hospital or be seriously unwell if you’re unvaccinated that if you’re vaccinated.

Hope you’re feeling better soon Flowers

I have it now (triple jabbed) and also had it a year ago. I feel worse this time around. Last time was relatively mild. Very confusing Confused

I had it in Dec 2020 and felt a bit tired and fluey. Sore eyes, throat and head. Lost my sense of smell.

Had it last month and other than a sniffly nose I had no symptoms.

I'm triple jabbed. But this also seems to be a much milder variant.

However if this your body reacts in a similar way to any covid infection then I imagine you would have been much sicker with an older variant and no vaccinations.
